Kitchen Words
I recently received a package from Design Divas. They have a large selection of vinyl letters and wall art. Their mission: To bring affordable, quality Vinyl Lettering Quotes & Wall Art into as many homes as possible. I had my choice of vinyl. With so many choices, it was hard to make a decision on one. I finally settled on this one for the kitchen. There was an odd spot above the

Dream House Alphabet: F
F is For Farm House SinkRemember in Dream House Alphabet E when I called the foyer an entry way to save my F for something special? Well this is it people. I LOVE the classic look of a farm house sink (also sometimes referred to as an apron front sink). ^ Designer Alice Lane proves that you don't have to go uber country with a farm house sink in this beautiful kitchen.^ Okay, double farm house

Kitchen Command Center
Let me just admit it, I have too many pieces of paper floating around in the kitchen. The drawer next to the refrigerator collects too many papers. When coupons come in, they go there. When I find recipe, they go there. I need a way to organize papers, write down needed items, and post the weekly menu. I made the dry erase menu a little while ago but I hated that is sat out on the counter.

Helllloooo Herringbone
As if the herringbone pattern wasn't sexy enough used for wooden floors, and as if Carrara marble wasn't jaw droppingly beautiful in a big ol' slab...just look at them COMBINED in a herringbone Carrara marble back splash:Via Style at HomeI love it! Definitely filing this in my kitchenspiration folder. Another back splash that really caught my eye recently is this glass one:Isn't it gorgeous?

My Kitchen's Got The Blues
I've noticed in my search for dark kitchen inspiration, many of them had pops of color throughout. Most of it was done with flowers, vases, or small counter top appliances. I had these small flower pots from Ikea that were pretty boring. Boring and beige. I could add some small pops of color without buying anything. Let's have a spray paint party. I grabbed some spray paint and tape. I taped

Kitchen Q & A
I've been getting questions about the kitchen so I thought I would just do a post to include them all.Where's the backsplash from and what's the name of the tile? The tiles are from Lowes. They are mosaic tiles and the color palette is Glacier. See original post here. Where are the cabinet pulls from? I found a company online that has super low prices and great quality, Interknobs. I was going

Where's The Dishwasher?
I've been receiving so many kind comments about the kitchen cabinet makeover. A big thanks to you all. Makes me feel good when my inbox goes in to overdrive. In those comments have been some interesting questions. One that stood out to me and was from an anonymous reader, "Your cabinets look great but where is your dishwasher?" I had taken pictures of the dishwasher side of the island before

Kitchen Cabinets Revealed
After a long weekend and several week nights of painting, I can finally say the kitchen cabinets are done. Say hello to our new kitchen. The stools seem to disappear into the island. Not sure if I want to leave them this way or find some new ones. I could try to recover the seats and paint the legs.I removed the dark striped valance and it already brightened the kitchen by allowing more light

Kitchen Progress
We're well on our way to a new kitchen. Everything has been deglossed, painted with 2 coats and glazed. I still have to clear coat the doors and drawers which could take forever it seems like. Since the work week has started, I only have a couple hours each night to work on things. The hardware delivered yesterday. I went with a pull in stainless steel. I love the modern look of the pulls

Knobs or Pulls?
I've decided I'm going to start on the kitchen cabinets this weekend, ok maybe. I have one dilemma, knobs or pulls. Since I'm painting them, I have a chance to fill and paint over old holes and make new ones. I have been wanting to go with longer, sleek pulls on all the doors and drawers like this kitchen. source unknownI also like cabinets like these where there are knobs on top and pulls on
